Stable warrior SIR MOMENTS and talented mare SORNJA headline Proven Thoroughbreds’ runners in the week ahead.

The Steve O’Dea pair step out at Doomben on Saturday, with SIR MOMENTS (pictured) to contest the Listed Brisbane Handicap (1600m) after being ridden against his usual pattern last start while SORNJA chases back-to-back wins in the 1350m BM70.

Sunday at Hawkesbury sees the John Thompson-trained WATERLINE, a younger brother to Group I winner TAVAGO, step out for his debut although expectations are that he will need much further than 1500m first-up. Stablemate THE GRANDSON starts in the 1800m C2 following a much improved effort over a mile at Goulburn last month.

On the same day at the Sunshine Coast, BLONDE BY CHOICE is one of 16 starters in the 1400m maiden for the O’Dea stable.

Promising SNITZEL colt SCALLOPINI is scheduled to resume over 1100m at Gold Coast on Wednesday or over 1000m at Ballina on Thursday.

The John Bateman-trained NICCONITA is our final runner in the week ahead, stepping out on her home track of Goulburn after placing at a Canterbury night meeting on debut.

Our trialists include BRING ME SHOWERS for John Thompson, having her second hit-out at Randwick on Monday before O’Dea duo CANDIKA and FRANCISCA have practice runs at Doomben on Tuesday.
