You can be wrong as often as you are right about untried stallions but Proven Thoroughbreds believes TIVACI has all the attributes to be a hit at stud.
Consider these factors about the Waikato Stud-based sire:
- By the breed-shaping HIGH CHAPARRAL (also sire of SO YOU THINK, DUNDEEL & TORONADO)
- The only horse by HIGH CHAPARRAL in the world to have won a Group 1 below 1600m (Group 1 All Aged Stakes 1400m).
- The only horse by HIGH CHAPARRAL in the world to have won a stakes race over 1000m.
In short, TIVACI was a horse who belied his stout pedigree. Indeed he was out of a mare whose only two wins came at 2000m…and her mother won over 3200m!
SPEED x STAYING BLOODLINES = AN EXCEPTIONAL EQUINE!
Similarly, champion sire SAVABEEL had speed and precocity not normally seen in sons of ZABEEL. He won a 1000m 2yo race on debut – something no other son or daughter of ZABEEL has achieved (out of 1107 winners!).
And close observers would have noticed that Proven Thoroughbreds’ most recent winner, STOCKMAN, is also by a sire who possessed speed in spite of staying bloodlines. That sire is the late TAVISTOCK (by MONTJEU). Like TIVACI, he is the only horse by his sire to have won a Group 1 below 1600m.

The result enhanced M’INDIGO’s stud record to four winners from four raced foals, which includes the juvenile stakes winner SUNSET ROCK (by DOMESDAY).
And the late SPILL THE BEANS continues to remind the industry of what a loss he will be to Queensland breeders, leading Australia’s first season sire standings with 10 individual winners.
