Following a relatively quiet period of runners, Proven Thoroughbreds will roll out 10 starters in the week ahead.
Our team will be headlined by KYLEASE and BETTER GET SET on Saturday at the Gold Coast where the latter has scraped into the field for the $500,000 QTIS 3YO Jewel.
STELLAR MAGIC is another runner of interest. The promising 2YO filly resumes from a spell after a luckless second on debut in Brisbane’s first 2YO race of the season last October.
On the sales front, Proven acquired lot 49 for $75k on day one of the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, a striking grey colt by SUPER ONE from THE COPPER SUN, a full-sister to stakes winning sprinter IN CAHOOTS.
Our last two purchases from Adelaide are the excitement machine PRIVATE EYE (6:5-0-0) and INVINCIANO (22:6-2-2), both members of the Joe Pride stable. Joe will also be the trainer of the SUPER ONE colt (pictured below)

TORINDAÂ didn’t have much go his way at Kembla last start. The son of TORONADO lost ground along the back straight after being checked off heels and then suffered more inteference in the home straight. Despite his torrid run, the 4YO showed plenty of tenacity to finish 5th, beaten just under three lengths. Can surely break his maiden with a bit more luck at his next run.
Comment: Tackles this race on the fresh side having not raced since January 13 when narrowly defeated over 1600m at Canberra. Consistent type back on his home track and gets the services of a leading rider.
Comment: Gallant when fourth in midweek company at Warwick Farm. Back in grade and drawn well should give him every chance to be figuring in the finish here.
Comment: Has made up solid ground in his last two starts and looks suited by the rise to 1600m. A winning hope if he can get clear running at the right time.
Comment: Probably should have won first-up over 1000m at Eagle Farm. Drawn to get some favours in the run this time but bumps into a couple of smart types.
Comment: Has won twice and placed twice in four starts since swapping Sydney for Brisbane. Bloused in the last hop at Eagle Farm on February 2. Will make her own luck up on the speed again here and should appreciate racing at the Gold Coast.
Comment: Beaten as a short priced favourite at Ipswich but had some excuses there. Placed in three of her last four but needs to shed her maiden status.

Comment: Good effort first-up to finish on the heels of the placegetters over 1400m. Fitter for that and this looks a lovely assignment for him second-up.
Comment: Promising filly stepping out for her second career start. A tragedy beaten on debut last October and her recent work would suggest she won’t be a maiden for much longer.
Comment: As mentioned in the blackbooker section, this gelding was most unlucky last start. Heads back to country grade where he should get his chance to make amends.
