A Choisir filly and Equiano filly joined the Proven Thoroughbreds team on day two of the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Lot 169 on account of Yarraman Park Stud was the first acquisition for bargain price of $45k. The daughter of Choisir has plenty of scope about her and is the third foal of French Elle, which has already thrown a stakes winner – Ocean Challenger (by Rubiton).

Choisir is a sire that continues to perform season on season and Proven Thoroughbreds has enjoyed great success with his progeny including Group II winner Sir Moments and the promising city winner Chosen Prayer.

The second purchase was lot 208 (pictured) for $72.5k, a filly by the northern hemisphere champion Equiano. In a 26 start career, Equiano won Britain’s biggest sprint race – the Group I King’s Stand Stakes (1000m) as a three-year-old (defeating Takeover Target) and then again as a five-year-old.

This filly is well put together with a strong hindquarter. She is from a family brimful of stakes winners including Golden Slipper winner Polar Success, Golden Slipper placegetter Bring Me The Maid and Champion Singapore three-year-old Step It Up.
