A relation to Guy’s former champion Tie The Knot joined the Proven Thoroughbreds team on day three of the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

Lot 343, a daughter of Nicconi out of Larksong, was one of the better types Proven Thoroughbreds inspected at the sale so it was surprising to see the hammer knocked down at $13k.

Larksong is by Singspeil from Jadeite, making her a three-quarter sister to the stakes winner Dream Ballad. Dream Ballad raced in the famous red and white silks for Guy and so did his champion half-brother Tie The Knot, a winner of 13 Group 1 races.

A flurry of recent winners has seen Widden Stud’s Nicconi move into third place on the second season sire rankings behind only I Am Invincible and Manhattan Rain.

This filly represents the perfect opportunity to become involved with racehorse ownership at an affordable price. She has plenty of stamina to her pedigree and will be trained by Tony McEvoy at Hawkesbury who prepares recent carnival winners Alpine Eagle and Stoker.
