Lightly-raced stayer THEWAYWEARE recorded a third consecutive win when running his opposition into the ground at Canberra on Sunday.

The four-year-old lined up in a benchmark 65 2000 metre event following a pair of wins at Goulburn over 2130 metres and 2300 metres.

After absorbing a genuine tempo up front, THEWAYWEARE sustained a long run from the 1000 metre marker and held off the challengers to win by two lengths.

The performance was an impressive display of stamina which no doubt can be partly attributed to the Zabeel bloodline on his dam side.

THEWAYWEARE goes to the spelling paddock at Redbank North on a high after a fruitful preparation with trainer John Thompson.

John and his staff have done a wonderful job to get the horse into winning form after a moderate start to his career which saw him unplaced in his first seven starts.

Proven Thoroughbreds has been fortunate enough to have an abundance of in-form gallopers of late with 12 winners since October, taking our 2015 tally to 27.
