Promising mare OCEAN TREATY will chase three consecutive wins when she tackles 1800m for the first time on Saturday.

The Steve O’Dea-trained galloper heads to the Gold Coast following wins at the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich where she has displayed a good deal of staying potential.

TOO HOT TO HOLD is another last start winner from the O’Dea stable and has been entered for the 1200m Class 4 at the Sunshine Coast’s Friday night meeting.

In other Proven news, STELLAR MAGIC has pulled up well from her luckless debut in last Saturday’s 2YO race at Eagle Farm and is set to return to the races on Sunday week at the Sunshine Coast.

IN THE BLOOD OCT 5 – KERMADEC TAKES FLIGHT!

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners:

Goulburn Tuesday October 6

BM58 Handicap 1000m:

AZOUSTIC

John Bateman/Kayla Nisbet

Comment: First-up without a trial but has done plenty of work and gives the impression he can run well fresh, particularly on his home track where he won in March.

Gosford Thursday October 8

Class 1 Handicap 1200m:

DOUBLE MAJOR

Joe Pride/Alysha Collett

Comment: Disappointed first-up at Nowra when beaten more than four lengths as favourite. Seems to have done well at home since but hard to assess at this early stage of the preparation.

Canberra Friday October 9

Federal Open Handicap 1400m:

GREENSPAN

John Bateman/TBA

Comment: His preparation has been plagued by wet tracks and unsuitable races but should get his chance to show something reminiscent of his best here if the rain stays away.

BM60 Handicap 1200m:

WAR DECK

John Bateman/TBA

Comment: Taken a while to get back to the races due to a virus but generally races well fresh (ran a good third here in February).

Sunshine Coast Friday October 9:

Class 4 Handicap 1600m

TOO HOT TO HOLD

Steve O’Dea/Anthony Allen

Comment: Consistent mare who deservedly snapped a winning drought here a fortnight ago. Strikes another winnable race and stays at a mile.

Class 2 Handicap 1600m

GOLDNEALA

Steve O’Dea/Justin Huxtable

Comment: Much improved effort last time when half a length off the winner over 1400m at this track. Gives the impression the extra 200m will suit.

Maiden Handicap 1000m

TRIP THE LIGHT

Steve O’Dea/TBA

Comment: Loomed up to win fresh but condition gave out over the final 100m. With natural improvement she can go one better.

Gold Coast Saturday October 10

Class 3 Handicap 1800m:

OCEAN TREATY

Steve O’Dea/Anthony Allen

Comment: In-form mare shooting for a hat-trick. She was a maiden only two starts ago so lacks the experience of some of her rivals here but is on the up and should relish the trip.

Sunshine Coast Sunday October 11

QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate 1000m:

BETTER GET SET

Steve O’Dea/TBA

Comment: Came off the pace to win a trial at Doomben on Tuesday and looks primed to shed her maiden tag. Finished three lengths off EELOH at the end of last preparation whick looks strong form now.

TRIP THE LIGHT

Steve O’Dea/TBA

Comment: Loomed up to win fresh but condition gave out over the final 100m. With natural improvement she can go one better.
