Last start winner THEWAYWEARE will chase his eighth career victory in an ideal race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The John Thompson-trained gelding (pictured) is set to start in the 2400m BM80 Handicap after prevailing in thrilling photo finish over the 2200m Warwick Farm course on October 11. TAHSIN, also from the JT team lines up in the B70 of 1400m on the back of a strong trial this week following a miserable unplaced run at Newcastle on  Cup Day.

Other runners for Proven Thoroughbreds this week include Joe Pride’s GAMBELSTOWN in the 1400m BM85 Handicap at Randwick on Saturday, pending the weather. The son of Darci Brahma ran a bold second with 63.5kg at Canberra last start but needs a dry track to produce his best.

Then at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, REALLY REILLY and RECKLESS CHOICE step out for the Steve O’Dea stable. REALLY REILLY is deserved of a win soon after finishing runner-up in his last three starts while Reckless Choice has his second start after a sound fourth on debut earlier this month.

DISCREET CHARM, from the Thompson yard, will also be having her second start when she lines up in the 1300m Maiden at Hawkesbury on Thursday following a satisfactory sixth over an unsuitably short 1100m at Warwick Farm.

Friday could see stablemate THE GRANDSON head to Scone’s showcase meeting to run in the 1400m Class 3 after a solid trial back from a freshen-up earlier this week.

The final runner in the black and lime green silks for the week will be the Pride-trained grey SO SPIRITED, which will be entered for Canterbury’s first night meeting of the season in the 1550m BM75 Handicap in addition to the B70 of 1400m at Warwick Farm Wed.

On the trial front, Pride will give unraced gelding SHOW ME THE HONEY a practice hit-out at Warwick Farm on Tuesday while SIR MOMENTS and SORNJA will trial for the O’Dea stable at Doomben on the same morning.
