It’s been another successful week for our Brisbane trainer Steve O’Dea and we’ll be hoping the momentum continues with three upcoming runners.

The O’Dea stable’s recent surge has come at the right time as we showcased our new babies at the annual Kolora Lodge open day only last Sunday.

24 hours later CONTEMPTUOUS romped in on debut to give us our 16th winner for 2019 which is our best start to a calendar year yet.

Whilst it will be a relatively quiet week in terms of runners, we are in a strong position to record five Saturday Brisbane winners in as many weeks with potentially three Proven gallopers heading to Doomben.

Next week Proven Thoroughbreds will commence inspections of yearlings at the Inglis Easter Sale, where we sourced Group 2 winning colt SESAR in 2017.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners:

Ipswich Friday March 29:

QTIS 3YO Handicap 1666m

 TOO HOT TO HOLD

Steve O’Dea/Anthony Allen

Comment: Determined last start win when bullocking her way clear to win impressively. That performance revealed how much she relishes a fast tempo.

Doomben Saturday March 30:

BM70 1050m/NMW 1200m

 MASTERATI

Steve O’Dea/Ryan Maloney

Comment
: Not seen since finishing fourth over 1000m at Eagle Farm on February 23. Rain and wide gates have prevented him from running in recent weeks but has raced well fresh in the past.

Class 6 1350m

 SO SPIRITED

Comment
: Scratched from Eagle Farm last Saturday due to a wide barrier. Going well, just needs luck in running and Ideally a soft 5 track.
