It’s a new week in the racing world and Proven Thoroughbreds is on the Gold Coast bolstering stocks at the March QTIS Yearling Sale.

It’s a sale where we have previously sourced the likes of INVIGORATING (a great advertisment for the QTIS bonus scheme having collected $75k for winning a 3yo race at Doomben) and COOL SEQUENCE (who is aiming for back-to-back Saturday metropolitan wins this weekend.

During the opening session on Monday we were able to acquire four fillies of exceptional value:

RICH ENUFF x NOTHING COMPARES filly

BETTER THAN READY x RIDOLFI filly

THE FACTOR x ZADIYM filly

STATUE OF LIBERTY x BEVICO GIRL filly

At the conclusion of the sale Proven will post a story summarising all our new purchases complete with photos, quotes from trainer Steve O’Dea and up to date pedigrees.

Meanwhile on the racing front, Proven has seven scheduled runners in the week ahead, beginning with last start winner GREENSPAN (pictured) at a Hawkesbury metro meeting on Wednesday.

Last week’s deluge in Sydney and Brisbane forced the withdrawal of several Proven runners so we’ll be out to make up for lost time – providing the rain doesn’t come back!

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners:

Hawkesbury Wednesday March 20:

BM70 1600m

 GREENSPAN

John Bateman/Christian Reith

Comment: Good effort to win rising from 1200m to 1600m last start. Should be at the top of his game for this but only has limited exposure to wet tracks.

Doomben Wednesday March 20:

Open 3YO Handicap 1350m

 TOO HOT TO HOLD

Steve O’Dea/Anthony Allen

Comment: Has been placed in her last three outings between 1200m and 1400m. This trip looks ideal and she has wet track form. Should go close again.

Eagle Farm Saturday March 23:

BM70 1500m

 FRANCISCA

Steve O’Dea/Ronnie Stewart

Comment
: Got too far back in a on-pace dominated race and never figured last time. That followed a luckless second at this track. Can certainly bounce back with the right run.

Class 6 1200m

 COOL SEQUENCE

Steve O’Dea/TBA

Comment
: Gave his all in front to scrape home over this distance three weeks ago. Is a model of consistency and wouldn’t be surprised to see him jag another Saturday win.

 SCALLOPINI

Steve O’Dea/Ronnie Stewart

Comment
: Highly talented sprinter that has suffered a set back since resuming with a stylish win over this track and trip. Goes well fresh so the break between runs could well be a positive.

 SO SPIRITED

Steve O’Dea/TBA

Comment
: On debut for new stable having won 5 races for our Sydney trainer Joe Pride. May need the run here being a month between runs but has ability.

3yo Open Handicap 2200m

 MISSED THE ALARM

Steve O’Dea/Ronnie Stewart

Comment
: Got back and made some late ground over the 1840m here, albeit 3.65 lengths behind the winner. Can find improvement up in trip but still looks a decent test for her in this company.
