The weather gods were smiling in Brisbane on Sunday as a large contingent of our clientele gathered at the Steve O’Dea open morning to see our next generation of racehorses.
Yearlings by sires such as SEBRING, MORE THAN READY, BETTER THAN READY, RICH ENUFF and STAR WITNESS were showcased at Steve’s Eagle Farm stables.
Steve has been Proven Thoroughbreds’ most successful trainer to date, putting the polish on horses like SESAR, SIR MOMENTS, CANDIKA, SCALLOPINI and RECKLESS CHOICE.
In recent seasons, the Townsville-born horseman has established himself among the top echelon of Queensland trainers with a regular stream of winners at metropolitan level.
One of the babies that stood out in particular on Sunday was the
SEBRING x LUMIC filly (pictured). We’ve made no secret of our reverence for SEBRING and this particular filly is closely related to our very own stakes winner CANDIKA.
Steve believes the LUMIC filly is the most precocious of our current crop of yearlings. Shares available from $4,650.

Comment: Disappointed in the Randwick heavy last Saturday. Pulled up almost too well from that outing so has been nominated for two events this Saturday. Needs to recapture form from earlier in the prep.
BM94 1100m:

Comment: A brave third-place finish last start saw her secure some valuable black type in the June Stakes. They haven’t missed her in the benchmark ratings, shooting up to 88 from 81 but is in career best form and gets in on the 53kg limit again after the allowance.
