A relatively quiet week for the Proven Thoroughbreds team with three runners aiming to open our account for 2020.

On the sales front, we have commenced preparation for the Inglis Classic, where we are hoping to source yearlings for our New South Wales trainers Joe Pride and John Bateman.

The sale will be held at the Riverside complex at Warwick Farm from February 9-11.

BLACKBOOKER: HIGH HANDED is one of our two-year-olds with Steve O’Dea and the gelding has shown above average ability on the training track, winning a recent 800m jumpout. We were fortunate enough to secure the full-sister (CHOISIR x SHAMANA) at the recent Magic Millions yearling sale.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners:

Wagga Tuesday January 21

Maiden Plate 1300m:

FIGHT FOR LOVE

John Bateman/Shaun Guymer

Comment: Beat all bar one at this track on January 9. Rises 100m in trip and can go one better if she gets luck from the wide draw.

Sunshine Coast Saturday January 25

Sunshine Coast Cup 1400m:

SCALLOPINI

Steve O’Dea/Boris Thornton

Comment: Totally luckless on Magic Millions day. He was virtually put out of play when the favourite broke down in his lap but rallied along the inside (worst going) to finish off well. Winning chance.

Wyong Sunday January 26

Maiden Handicap 1350m:

AZOUSTIC

Joe Pride/TBA

Comment: On the quick back up after running fourth of five over 1100m at Gosford. Was beaten less than two lengths there and looks as though he will appreciate rising in trip.
