Half a dozen runners for Proven Thoroughbreds this week, led by STOCKMAN in the Listed Christmas Cup (2400m) at Randwick on Saturday.

The Joe Pride-trained stayer is yet to win this preparation but has racked up three placings from five runs, and plunges 6.5kg in weight for his latest assignment.

Kerrin McEvoy, who rode STOCKMAN last start, has been booked to do the steering again.

Our other runners include last start winner SO YOU SHOP (pictured) for the Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted camp. The son of SO YOU THINK is still putting together the racing caper but impressed at Ipswich on November 25 when leading throughout.

BLACKBOOKER

INVINCIANO was returning from a let up at Rosehill last Saturday and did everything asked of her over the 1350m, finishing 1.8 lengths from the winner in a race where the leader dictated from start to finish. She’s being prepared for the Gosford’s Group 3 Belle Of The Turf (1600m) at the end of the month which looks an ideal target race for her this summer.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Warwick Farm Wednesday December 9

BM72 Handicap 1600m:

LAMINGTON DRIVE

John Bateman/Jay Ford

Comment: Forced to make a long sustained run over a mile at Canberra last start and fought on gamely to finish fourth. Now fourth-up from a long spell he should be near enough to peak fitness. Up in grade the query.

Doomben Friday December 11

Class 2 Handicap 1640m:

SO YOU SHOP

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Ben Thompson

Comment: Burnt the candle at both ends last time but still held on for a strong win. Far from the finished product but certainly heading in the right direction.

Maiden Handicap 1200m:

HIGH HANDED

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Ben Thompson

Comment: Finished fourth at his only start last campaign and form out of that race looks strong. Ran second in a recent trial so must be considered first-up here.

Randwick Saturday December 12

Listed Christmas Cup 2400m:

STOCKMAN

Joe Pride/Kerrin McEvoy

Comment: Looked very dour last time when third over this track and distance two weeks ago. Plunges in weight and this looks no tougher. Can win.

Sunshine Coast Sunday December 13

BM65 Handicap 1400m:

THE GOLDEN HIND

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Stephanie Thornton

Comment: Coming off a slight set-back having been entered for a mile race last week. Not ideal coming back in trip but always seems to race well here.

Hawkesbury Sunday December 13

3YO Maiden Plate 1600m:

HIGH TRIBUTE

Joe Pride/Regan Bayliss

Comment: Closing in on a win. Wanted to do a few things wrong when second a Kembla over this trip last time. That was her first go at a mile so should be better for that experience.
