Proven Thoroughbreds will have a couple more chances to add to a record tally of winners before the new year is ushered in.

SEBERTON and SNIPPY FOX will be our last official runners of 2019 as we look to finish the year on a high. But win, lose or draw on Tuesday, we’ve been fortunate enough to witness 58 winners (9 more than our previous record) in the black and lime green this year – much to the delight of our loyal clients!

But come January 1 there will be barely be time to reflect on the year that was as Proven Thoroughbreds will be shifting focus to the Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale where we sourced GOTTA KISS less than 12 months ago.

The little chestnut filly continues to do everything right as the Steve O’Dea (pictured) stable put the finishing touches on her preparation for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) on January 11.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners:

Gosford Tuesday December 31

Maiden Handicap 1200m:

SEBERTON

Joe Pride/Nash Rawiller

Comment: He was a touch disappointing last start but is still learning his craft after only two career runs. Capable of finding enough improvement to win this.

Maiden Plate 1000m:

SNIPPY FOX

Joe Pride/Jay Ford

Comment: On debut. Sound in two trials this time in and can make her presence felt over this distance.

Randwick-Kensington Wednesday January 1

BM70 Handicap 1550m:

INVINCIANO

Joe Pride/Jay Ford

Comment: Tough winner last time out when staving off all challengers from in front. Stays at the track and distance so must be in the mix again.

Sapphire Coast Thursday January 2

Class 1 & Maiden Plate 2200m:

 THE BLUESMOBILE

John Bateman/TBA

Comment: Been running consistently of late but is winless from his six starts. Racing as though he wants the extra distance and sure to be a genuine top three chance again.

Maiden Plate 1400m:

 FIGHT FOR LOVE

John Bateman/TBA

Comment: Weakened to finish fifth in a 1200m maiden at Canberra on December 27. On the quick back-up rising to 1400m might incite a form reversal but is running out of chances.

Randwick-Kensington Saturday January 4

Highway Handicap 1400m:

GREENSPAN

John Bateman/Billy Owen

Comment: Excellent win at Randwick a fortnight back and will appreciate the extra 100m here. Started big odds last start but expecting him to be hard in the market here.

Gold Coast Saturday January 4

Magic Millions Rising Stars F&M Class 4 Plate 1300m:

INVIGORATING

Steve O’Dea/Boris Thornton

Comment: Luckless first-up and definitely worthy of an each-way ticket in this race based on her previous form. However, being second-up from a long spell is a query.

Sunshine Coast Sunday January 5

BM68 Handicap 1600m:

TOO HOT TO HOLD

Steve O’Dea/TBA

Comment: Beat all bar one over this track and distance on Boxing Day. That was her first run in more than a month so should be at the top of her game for this.
