A quiet week in the run up to Christmas for the PROVEN team. Top colt SESAR (pictured) returning to Steve O’Dea’s Eagle Farm stable was one of the highlights of the past 7 days along with TAHSIN’S second Mudgee Cup.

Enigmatic WAS IT WORTH IT steps out Friday at Ipswich to open the PROVEN batting for the weekend. He’s on a quick backup following an ordinary performance at the same track a week ago.

A runner free Saturday precedes BLANCO CARA’S belated return to the racetrack Sunday. The 3 time winner was down to run at Warrnambool Thursday but an affected track prompted trainer Archie Alexander to delay her resumption until Bendigo Sunday. Even that may be in doubt given the prevailing rain through much of Victoria.

Steve O’Dea plans to jump out a number of PROVEN gallopers Tuesday but may well be thwarted by the deluge forecast to hit South East Queensland in coming days. So, they may end up at Deagon Jump Outs Thurs DEC 27. COOL SEQUENCE is a possible runner for Steve at Doomben Wednesday as he relishes wet ground but the hardy gelding might be reserved for a race at the Eagle Farm opening Saturday DEC 22.

Joe Pride saddles SAVABEEL filly NIJINSKA at Goulburn Thursday in either a 1200m or 1300m maiden. The 3 year old ran an eye-catching 4th at Gosford first up so looks well placed.
