Exciting stayer STOCKMAN continued on his winning ways with another impressive display of stamina at Warwick Farm on Monday.

Similar to his win at Randwick last month, STOCKMAN circled the field from the 800m and simply out muscled his rivals, this time against older horses over 2130m.

It was the three-year-old gelding’s fourth win from his last five starts.

Trainer Joe Pride has always held the son of TAVISTOCK in high regard and has high hopes for the future, despite COVID-19 thwarting a Queensland Derby tilt.

“If there was a Queensland Derby this year, I’d said I would love to be in it but it wasn’t to be,” Pride said.

“But we might make up for that somewhere down the track, I think.

“He is a genuine stayer who is only going to get better as he gets a bit older and a bit stronger.”

STOCKMAN, who is bred on the potent TAVISTOCK x ZABEEL cross, takes his record to four wins and two seconds from eight starts. He will now head out for a well-deserved spell.

The result marked 40 wins for Proven Thoroughbreds this season and 17 since January 1.
