SO YOU SHOP’s victory at Ipswich on Monday marked a half century of winners for Proven Thoroughbreds this season.
The Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted-trained gelding started an easing favourite in the final race of the public holiday meeting but finished best in the field of 12.
Ridden by Travis Wolfgram, SO YOU SHOP was camped just off the speed during the middle stages of the race before being given clear air in the straight.
The 4YO son of SO YOU THINK responded gamely to Wolfgram’s urgings to score by 0.3 lengths, and bring up Proven’s 50th winner for the 2020-21 season which renews on August 1.
SO YOU SHOP, now a three-time winner, was a $100k purchase from the draft of Aquis Farm at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
