A stunning form turnaround saw three-year-old filly SNIPPY FOX overcome a torrid run and dispatch a maiden field at Goulburn’s Tuesday meeting.

Three-wide and no cover usually spells defeat for a horse (particularly a maiden!) but in the case of SNIPPY FOX it proved inconsequential.

Stepping out for only her second career start, SNIPPY FOX was entitled to tire over the concluding stages of the 1200m but instead found another gear to win eased down by a length – much to the delight of trainer Joe Pride, jockey Jay Ford and our patient owners!

SNIPPY FOX’s only previous start was an uneventful last at Gosford on January 10 but a subsequent trial at Warwick Farm, where she finished an encouraging second, ignited sharp improvement upon her return to competition.

A daughter of FOXWEDGE out of the STREET CRY mare SNIPPET STREET, SNIPPY FOX was purchased for a bargain price of $35k at the 2018 Inglis Classic Sale.

The 2020 edition of the Classic Sale gets underway on February 9 at the Inglis Riverside Complex and Proven Thoroughbreds will be aiming to jag another value priced yearling for the Pride stable.
