A brave ride by Boris Thornton ensured there was no hard luck story with TOO HOT TO HOLD at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

Met with heavy support late in betting, TOO HOT TO HOLD started favourite in the BM62 1400m event.

The Steve O’Dea-trained daughter of SIZZLING was back in the field during the early and middle parts of the race before Thornton sooled her through a closing gap in the home straight.

TOO HOT TO HOLD obliged and mowed down the leaders to win by a neck.

It was the mare’s third career victory and took her total prize money past $100k.

She is the 53rd winner for Proven Thoroughbreds this calendar year and 18th for the season which commenced on August 1.
