Proven Thoroughbreds and Archie Alexander have combined to purchase a beautiful filly by SHAMUS AWARD from a half-sister to multiple Group-winning stayer GREY SONG.

The filly, listed as lot 193, was secured for $135k during the second session of the Inglis Premier Sale.

A strong first foal with great bone and forearms, this filly is a great advertisement for the dam TONZA ROSSA (by TESTA ROSSA) and first-season sire SHAMUS AWARD – a Cox Plate and Australian Guineas winner by the all-conquering SNITZEL.

TONZA ROSSA was a specialist sprinter, but her half-sister GREY SONG was an outstanding stayer – winning Group races from 1600m-2800m and even ran sixth in the 2003 Melbourne Cup behind the great MAKYBE DIVA!

Trainer-in-waiting Archie Alexander had the advantage of inspecting this filly in a paddock environment before the sale and was particularly impressed by the way she had developed in the weeks since.

With an attractive blend of speed and stamina in this girl’s pedigree, and eligibility for VOBIS, BOBS and Inglis bonuses, she is sure to prove popular.
