Proven Thoroughbreds went to $160k to secure a SEBRING colt from the stakes winning mare SARTHEMARE at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale on Thursday.

Proven Thoroughbreds made it a priority to purchase a SEBRING at this year’s Inglis Easter Yearling Sale as his current yearlings are from a season when some of the best broodmares were being sent to the Widden Stud resident.

After inspecting SEBRING’s representation at this year’s sale, the added quality in his yearlings was evident.

Lot 328 was a correct, attractive type with a more refined head than most of the progeny of SEBRING.

With plenty of leg underneath, this colt has scope and looks like a possible miler – such is the versatility of his Golden Slipper-winning sire.

The dam SARTHEMARE (by STREET CRY) won the Black Opal Stakes as a juvenile and has produced two winners from two foals to race – seven-time winner Central Station (by MANHATTAN RAIN) and Aquis Farm’s Doubt Defying (by NOT A SINGLE DOUBT), a three-year-old gelding trainer Steve O’Dea has a decent opinion of.

Aquis has already purchased a significant share in this colt, which will also be joining O’Dea.

It’s also worth noting that Proven Thoroughbreds’ last three winners are by SEBRING.
