Consistent gelding REALLY REILLY bounced back into the winners’ circle Sunday at the Sunshine Coast, showing a tidy turn of foot to gather in the well performed favourite Martinelli.

Whilst a regular placegetter REALLY REILLY’S winning record was starting to wane prior to today’s victory which boosted his record to read 21 starts 3-3-5.

“A better gate and some give in the ground, was a big advantage for him today,” trainer Steve O’Dea said.

“His first two runs this time in have been very good, on firm ground and thwarted by bad barriers. With a smother and some give in the track out to 1400m on the spacious Sunny Coast circuit, I gave him a great each way chance today.”

There are no ambitious plans for the O’Reilly 5yo whose three wins have all come at 1400m. In saying that, jockey Paul Hammersley reckons the horse is a stronger  individual this time in so city company beckons.

Today’s win was PROVEN’S 20th triumph for the year and caps a fine week with the O’Dea stable also leading in Wednesday’s Doomben winner LOTHARIO.
