We all know racing results ebb and flow. As one wise old pundit once opined, “if you’re having a great run you’re getting closer to a run of outs!” However, in the last month our patience has been tested with 10 placings from our past 14 runs.

ANECDOTE’S 3rd at Newc Saturday came on top of WANT FOR NOTHING’S similar placing at Ipswich Friday and followed 4 placings from 5 runners the previous weekend. At least the horses are running well but there’s nothing quite like winning!

This weekend sees the return of STAKESWINNER ADORABEEL (pictured) who’ll line up Rosehill in a B90 of 1300m. Two recent trials have fitted her for the first up assignment in the opinion of trainer Joe Pride although that trip is short of her best. One of our recent “placegetters”, the John Thompson trained DRAGON FLYER, also is nominated for Rosehill in the 1400m B75.

Meantime in Queensland the Steve O’Dea stable sends the consistent REAL STING to contest a 2200m B65 at the Gold Coast Saturday and WANT FOR NOTHING may back up at Ipswich Friday. Then on Sunday REALLY REILLY heads to the Sunshine Coast for a 1400m Mdn.
