Master Of Design’s first two-year-old to hit the racetrack produced an impressive display in the Listed Marbyrnong Trial Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on Sunday.

Kinetic Design, a filly trained by Stuart Webb, zoomed home from last position down the Flemington straight to finish within half a length of the winner Sweet Sherry.

Kinetic Design clocked the fastest final sectionals of the race, covering her last 200 metres in 22.74 seconds.

The run, which yielded a black type placing, was a great advertisement for first season sire Master Of Design, who won the Group I TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick during his racetrack career.

A $2.1 million yearling by Redoute’s Choice from a blue-blooded female family, Master Of Design has all the credentials to become a successful stallion.

Shares remain in a Master Of Design-Lady Of Dormello colt (pictured) to be raced by Proven Thoroughbreds with Warwick Farm trainer Joe Pride.
