Lightly-raced 3YO PRIVATE EYE was a dominant first-up winner at Gosford on Wednesday.
The Joe Pride-trained gelding relished a hot tempo over the 1100m, swallowing up the leaders inside the final 100m and scoring by a length.
Such was the ease of the win, rider Brenton Avdulla sat up the last 50m as PRIVATE EYE went to the line with his ears pricked.
The son of AL MAHER now boasts two wins from just three career starts and holds a nomination for next month’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
Should PRIVATE EYE win his next start, we would have to seriously consider the $2 million race on the Gold Coast. But for now, we will enjoy Wednesday’s victory which was Proven Thoroughbreds 43rd for 2020 and 24th for the 2020-21 season.
PRIVATE EYE was a $62.5k Magic Millions Adelaide yearling and is a half-brother to six-time winning stablemate ROYAL WITNESS.
