Can you believe that one in 244 Australians is a racehorse owner? Our swashbuckling Irish, convict heritage is a partial explanation for this extraordinary statistic but whatever the reason, racing is an integral part of our cultural fabric. A punt, either on, or as an owner of a horse, is as fundamentally mainstream Australian as sunburn and barbecues.

Can’t guarantee the sunshine but the BBQ and a punt will be on show at John Thompson‘s Open Morning from 9.30am Sunday April 29.

See current racehorses ZEDFORCEDISCREET CHARMGREENSPANBRING ME SHOWERSWATER LINE and CHOUXTORIAL, plus unraced 2yo’s THE GOLDEN HINDMISSED THE ALARMWAR DECKNIJINSKABANG ON TARGETLAMINGTON DRIVE etc.

And introduce yourself to our new yearlings by TAVISTOCK, FOXWEDGE, CHARM SPIRIT & EL ROCA. Most still have shares available.

Chat to John, his new racing manager Danielle Podlewski and any of the staff whilst downing a hearty breakfast.

The Thompson stables can be accessed on High St, Randwick. The entry is a security gate located approximately halfway up the hill of High St overlooking the racecourse. After pressing the button to open the gate, follow the road around to the right where John’s signage will be apparent.
