Speedy mare TRIP THE LIGHT recorded her fourth career win when successful over the specialist 800m distance at Ipswich on Thursday.
With in-form pilot Boris Thornton aboard and in-form trainers Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted saddling up, TRIP THE LIGHT was sent out a $3.40 chance in the Class 3 Plate.
The four-year-old made the most of a low draw by holding the inside before dashing clear in the home straight to score by a length.
TRIP THE LIGHT has now been to Ipswich on eight occasions for two wins and four placings, while her 800m record reads the same with two wins and four placings from eight starts
A daughter of the late SEBRING, TRIP THE LIGHT is the latest winner for a stable that can do no wrong this season. The O’Dea-Hoysted team’s extraordinary run of results has them in outright second on the Queensland trainers’ premiership with a strike rate far superior to any other stable.
Meanwhile Proven Thoroughbreds’ tally of winners has climbed to 42 for season 2021-22 and 11 for the calendar year.
