THINK ABOUT IT climbed another rung on the ladder with a comfortable first-up victory at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The highly promising son of SO YOU THINK started a dominant $2.30 favourite in the 1200m BM72 Handicap and justified his short quote, winning in class record time.
Rider Sam Clipperton, replacing the suspended Rory Hutchings, had THINK ABOUT IT positioned just off the pace during the middle stages of the race before the pair launched down the outside of the straight to score by a widening 1.2 lengths.
In winning the race, he clocked the fastest last 600m of the meeting.
With three wins from four career starts, it’s easy to get carried away with what the future holds for THINK ABOUT IT but for now, trainer Joe Pride is happy to maintain a conservative approach through the grades this campaign with a view to potentially graduating to stakes racing in the winter.
Certainly, the manner in which he has been winning would suggest he will eventually find himself racing at that level.
A warm congratulations to our patient owners who had to wait more than two years to see THINK ABOUT IT make his debut.
He was a bargain $70k yearling purchase from Newgate Farm’s draft at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
Coincidentally our sole purchase on day 2 of the Magic Millions 2023 Yearling Sale was also sold by Newgate Farm – now widely recognised as the leading vendor in the country.
The yearling is a beautiful brown colt by I AM INVINCIBLE from speed machine PETITS FILOUS.
