FLYING BANDIT continues his spring campaign at Rosehill on Saturday after missing a start as an emergency in last Saturday’s Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Randwick.

The Kerry Parker-trained gelding reverts to a 1900m BM88 Handicap where he will carry 60.5kg after the claim of in-form apprentice Braith Nock. FLYING BANDIT (pictured) remains a slight chance of contesting next Saturday’s Group 1 Metropolitan (2400m) at Randwick however is more likely to be saved for the $2million Group 2 Hill Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill the following Saturday.

Meanwhile, gun mare IN FLIGHT is a possibility of starting in Saturday week’s Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick after trialling well at Rosehill on Tuesday morning. If any rain arrives in Sydney, her chances will be greatly enhanced.

SIRE ON FIRE – EXTREME CHOICE

He’s statistically the best sire in Australia, if not the world and last Saturday he bagged four winners from just five runners. Two of those winners were at stakes level – APOCALYPTIC (G2 Tea Rose Stakes) and ESTREMO (G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude). His best son at stud STAY INSIDE has also made an early statement in his stud career with some impressive performances at Sydney’s official 2yo trials on Monday.

BLACK BOOKER – HEYOKA

She wanted to lay in up the straight but was game finishing 3rd beaten three-quarters of a length in a 1200m Class 4 at the Gold Coast last Saturday. Looks ready for 1400m now.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Eagle Farm Wednesday September 24

Class 3 Plate 1830m

SECOND SUN

Matt Hoysted/Jag Guthmann-Chester

Comment: Into his optimum distance range now and ready to peak third-up. Gets his first look at Eagle Farm which will be to his liking as he is a big striding horse.

Sunshine Coast Friday September 26

Class 3 Handicap 1600m

MOONFLEET

Matt Hoysted/Daniel Moor

Comment: Put in a much improved effort last start when held up on the fence halfway up the straight and had to come across five sets of heels to find clear space. That was her second-up run and both her wins have been third-up, including a Class 2 victory at this track. Chance.

Rosehill Saturday September 27

BM88 Handicap 1900m

FLYING BANDIT

Kerry Parker/Braith Nock (a2)

Comment: Missed a start in the Kingston Town Stakes last Saturday so this represents a significant drop in class. Has 60.5kg after Braith Nock’s claim and will be strong at the 1900m.
