Nash Rawiller is the latest jockey to be called upon for PRIVATE EYE as injuries, illness and suspensions wreak havoc in the Sydney jockeys’ room.
Rawiller (pictured) replaces the suspended Regan Bayliss on the Epsom Handicap champion in Saturday’s $7.5 million Golden Eagle at Rosehill.
Jay Ford (illness) and Brenton Avdulla (neck) have also been forced to forego rides on PRIVATE EYE this campaign.
But most importantly, the horse is well and trialled brilliantly for Rawiller at Randwick last week. Current markets have PRIVATE EYE on the second line of betting around the $6 mark.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Proven Thoroughbreds will be represented by stakes placed filly STELLAR MAGIC and consistent mare BETTER GET SET at Eagle Farm.

RED RUBI was unsuited around Ipswich last start when getting too far back over the 1100m. Once balanced up she attacked the line well and finished within two lengths of the winner which had sat outside the leader. Co-trainers Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted have identified a 1000m BM70 race at the Sunshine Coast next month for this mare. Suggest she will go well in that event.
Comment: First-up for new stable. Undeniably talented but has refused to load into the barriers on multiple occasions. The change of environment appears to have made her more tractable and has trialled well. Can make use of the inside draw.
Comment: Trialled brilliantly since his Epsom Handicap triumph and the team couldn’t be happier with his condition. The two queries are how the track is playing and how his form lines up with the international raiders.
Comment: Got shuffled back in a slowly run race over this track and distance a fortnight ago and just missed in a diving finish. Can certainly atone if she can position closer to the speed.
