It promises to be another busy week for the Proven Thoroughbreds stable with a host of runners looking to add to our record tally of winners this calendar year.
KYLEASE and TOO HOT TO HOLD graced the winners’ circle over the weekend to elevate our first place count to 53 for 2019. The former was most impressive when almost breaking the 1200m track record at Kembla’s inaugural Gong meeting last Saturday, while the latter is prepared by our flying Queensland trainer Steve O’Dea, who will be hosting a BBQ at his Eagle Farm stables from 4pm on December 8 – all are welcome!
BLACKBOOKER: A last start winner doesn’t often make it into the blackbook but TOO HOT TO HOLD was most impressive at the Sunshine Coast last Sunday. She’s only won three from 19 but as an older mare she’s really starting to come into her own and based on her latest performance there are more wins just around the corner for this daughter of SIZZLING.

Comment: Sound debut at Hamilton on November 12 when beaten less than a length over 1400m. Rises to a mile now but Archie believes she’s looking for a trip and has taken benefit from the first-up run.

Comment: Remains a maiden from six starts but been placed twice including her most recent effort when beaten half a length over 1300m at Orange. Needs to lift but has certainly shown glimpses of ability.

Comment: Received a pass mark first-up at Goulburn over a trip short of his best. Stays at 1200m but is almost a month between runs and would be reasonable to expect improvement second-up.
Listed ATC Cup 2000m:

Comment: Never in the hunt when hard ridden from the back in The Gong last Saturday. That indifferent performance followed two excellent runs this campaign so prepared to forgive. Should appreciate getting out to 2000m now.
3&4YO BM72 Handicap 1300m:

Comment: Had no luck around Canterbury last start when shunted back towards the inside. Gets to a bigger track now and this looks an attractive race for her fourth-up.

BM58 Handicap 1800m:

Comment: Doubt he appreciated being back and between runners at Gundagai. He’s much better when he’s given space to wind up. Looks ready for 1800m and the long straight at Wagga should allow him to figure in the finish.

Comment: Looks awfully hard to beat in this grade. She’s a natural stayer and so long as she stays within striking distance of the leaders, she will have these horses covered.

Comment: Still doing a bit wrong in her races but has her fair share of talent. Gets to 1400m now and can win if she settles.
