Group III-winning colt SESAR will be out to enhance his profile in the Group II BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.
The son of SEBRING has delighted trainer Steve O’Dea since winning the Group III Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast three weeks ago but will need some luck from barrier 11 around the tight-turning Doomben circuit.
Proven Thoroughbreds’ other Saturday runners include the Joe Pride-trained SO SPIRITED (pictured) in the lucky last race at Randwick and CHOUXTORIAL for John Thompson in a mile maiden at Gosford.
CHOUXTORIAL has also accepted for Goulburn the following day but is more likely to stick to provincial company.
Similarly, Goulburn’s Sunday meeting is an option for John Bateman’s last start winner NICCONITA, but after drawing the outside, the three-year-old filly may be saved for Gosford next Thursday.

The weather gods will determine if the O’Dea-trained BEAU DANCER lines up in the 1200m C1 at Sunshine Coast on Sunday or the 1215m C1 at Grafton the following day.
One horse almost certain to run at Grafton is stablemate SETOKA, who returns from a freshen-up in the 1420m BM61.
On the trial front, Thompson-trained two-year-olds NIJINSKA, MISSED THE ALARM and WAR DECK clash in a 1000m heat at Hawkesbury on Monday while REALLY REILLY and CHOREOGRAPH step out for the O’Dea stable at the Doomben trials 24 hours later.
