Another handful of stakes runners for Proven Thoroughbreds this week including a dual-pronged attack on the Denise’s Joy Stakes at Scone’s standalone Saturday meeting.

Consistent fillies STELLAR MAGIC and RUBINOCCHI (pictured) will chase some valuable black type in the 1100m Listed event, the former has already a stakes placing to her name while the latter is coming off a 4.5 length win in Sydney.

With a capacity field of 16 likely to be assembled, both fillies will have to be at the top of their game to be figuring in the finish but their respective trainers couldn’t be happier with their condition.

Meanwhile, another female, KYLEASE, is on the same pursuit for a stakes win in the Listed Bright Shadow Stakes (1110m) which will be conducted at either Doomben or Eagle Farm, depending on the weather.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Scone Saturday May 14

Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes 1100m:

STELLAR MAGIC

Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Jason Collett

Comment: Heads interstate in search of an elusive black type win to add to her stakes placing from last season. Wasn’t afforded a great deal of room first-up in the Mick Dittman Plate and will likely appreciate the expansive Scone track.

Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes 1100m/BM78 Handicap:

RUBINOCCHI

Joe Pride/Tyler Schiller

Comment: Brilliant first-up winner at Canterbury last month. This another level but looks promising.

Doomben/Eagle Farm Saturday May 14

Listed Bright Shadow Stakes 1110m:

KYLEASE

Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Samantha Collett

Comment: Crossed from a wide gate to lead first-up and ran out of petrol late. Can bounce back with a more economical run. Although she has won on a heavy surface, she is more effective on firmer ground so would prefer the meeting to be switched to Eagle Farm.

Sunshine Coast Sunday May 15

BM65 Handicap 1400m:

THINK GLORY

Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: Has run creditably in two starts back this preparation, the latest being a fourth behind a subsequent Saturday winner. Looks well placed to win her third career race.

BM58 Handicap 1400m:

MERSEYSIDE

Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: Ran on well first-up over 1200m here to claim second. Had a tick over trial since and can only improve up to 1400m.
