A relatively quiet week ahead for the Proven Thoroughbreds team with a trio of scheduled runners however all three are expected to make an impact.
The one likely to start shortest in the market is the John Bateman-trained WAR DECK (pictured), who chases back to back wins when he steps out on his home track of Goulburn on Thursday.
In other Proven news, this week we launched a new segment called In The Blood which provides a summary of weekly stakes results and how they correlate to the pedigrees of our 2020 yearlings. (READ HERE).
BLACKBOOKER
DON’T DESPAIR made short work of a maiden field at the Sunshine Coast last Sunday and looks set for bigger things. He’s been a slow maturing horse but looks to be all coming together for him now and will get better as the distances get longer.
Comment: Game in defeat at Wagga last time out when sticking on for second. Stays at 1400m and deserves to break through with five top four finishes in his last six starts.
Comment: Comfortable last start winner over this distance at Wagga. He was only second-up there so can only strip fitter for this assignment and looks a strong chance again.
