Proven Thoroughbreds’ inaugural sponsorship of the Group II Guy Walter Stakes headlines the week ahead.
The $200,000 Group II event for fillies and mares will be held over 1400m at Saturday’s Randwick meeting, where Proven Thoroughbreds’ last start winner TAMARACK (pictured), trained by Joe Pride, lines up in the 2000m BM85 Handicap.
But before then, the Steve O’Dea-trained BEAU DANCER gets his chance to shed his maiden over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast on Friday night.
Back at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, stablemates SORNJA, WAS IT WORTH IT, and BLONDE BY CHOICE will fly the black and lime green colours.
Two days later at Kembla Grange, John Bateman-trained pair COUNTERFIRE and BELLA SCENICA resume in the 1400m Class 1 Handicap and 1400m fillies and mares Maiden Handicap.
Then on Wednesday, the Pride-trained speedster BROOK MAGIC starts in the 1000m BM70 Handicap at her own track of Warwick Farm, while O’Dea’s LOTHARIO chases his sixth career win in the 1350m Class 5 Handicap.
On the trial front, GAMBLESTOWN and MASTERATI spin around at Warwick Farm on Monday for Joe Pride before SESAR, SIENNA ROSE and RECKLESS CHOICE have practice hit outs at Doomben on Tuesday for the O’Dea stable.
