Seven runners will be rolled out by Proven Thoroughbreds this week as we approach the end of what has been a record-breaking season.
After TOWN CRIER and OCEAN ZAR completed a winning double at Eagle Farm last Wednesday, Proven crashed through the $10 million prizemoney barrier for the first time in a single season.
ACCREDITED (pictured) appears a good candidate to add to our seasonal haul at Goulburn on Friday after a most impressive win on debut at Nowra last month.
Similarly, stakes winning mare CANADIAN DANCER looks well placed to bounce back from a luckless third when she heads to Doomben on Saturday.
Last week we announced a date for our inaugural Open Day with trainer Kerry Parker. All are welcome at Kerry’s Kembla Grange stables from 10.45am on Sunday July 30.
A multiple Group 1 winning trainer in the last five years, Kerry is vastly underrated. As such, his select stable represents great opportunity for Proven clients and we look forward to a long association in much the same manner as the relationships we’ve carved out with the O’Dea/Hoysted team and Joe Pride. Yearlings by SO YOU THINK, CAPITALIST, ALMANZOR & SAXON WARRIOR will be paraded as well as stable stars THINK IT OVER & HOPE IN YOUR HEART. To register your attendance please get in touch via our CONTACT US page.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners
Wyong Tuesday July 4
Maiden Plate 1350m
CREWMAN
Joe Pride/Rory Hutchings
Comment: Resented the firm ground at Kembla Grange first-up and was never in the hunt. Trials leading up to that were good and the extra distance here suits, but would ideally like the forecast rain to arrive.
Eagle Farm Wednesday July 5
Maiden Plate 1200m
CLASSIC BOOM
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Jaden Lloyd
Comment: First-up. Narrowly beaten when resuming at Doomben in January over the 1200m in maiden company. This maiden looks to have a bit more depth to it but her trials have been sound.
Class 2 Handicap 1000m
ZOOCUPOLA
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Ben Thompson
Comment: Got the money on debut over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast back in January before two unplaced efforts. Been prominent in two jump outs this time in and expecting him to have come back a stronger, more mature horse.
Warwick Thursday July 6
Maiden Plate 1350m
EXTORTIONIST
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Emily Lang (a1.5)
Comment: On the quick back-up after running second at Kilcoy over 1200m. Appeared to have his chance last time so hopefully he can derive improvement from going up in trip.
Gosford Thursday July 6
BM58 Handicap 1000m
ACCREDITED
Joe Pride/Jay Ford
Comment: Impressive debut win at Nowra, coming from off the pace over this trip. Ideally wants a touch further now but looks above average.
Doomben Saturday July 8
F&M BM78 Handicap 1200m
CANADIAN DANCER
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/TBA
Comment: Should have won over this track and trip in April when disappointed for a run. Unfortunately got sick soon after that run so was sent out for a short spell. Her recent trial would indicate she is back to health and ready to fire, will just need some luck in the run home.
Beaudesert Saturday July 8
QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap 1400m
AFFECTIONATE
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/TBA
Comment: Resuming. Unplaced in all five starts to date but has had excuses in a couple of those and twice finished fourth in metropolitan maiden company. This looks a winnable first-up assignment for her.
