An impressive last start Brisbane winner headlines Proven Thoroughbreds’ runners in the week ahead.
YES TONIGHT, from the Steve O’Dea stable, shed her maiden status with some authority when scoring by two lengths at Doomben on July 19.
The lightly-raced mare could head to the Gold Coast next Wednesday along with stablemate THORNETT but before that, Proven Thoroughbreds will roll out three other gallopers in the black and lime green.
The Nick Olive-trained gelding UNYIELDING races on his home track at Canberra on Friday in search of his fourth career win. The four-year-old son of I Am Invincible gets the services of leading country jockey Jeff Penza and will be suited coming back in distance to 1080m.
REALLY REILLY, another horse from the O’Dea camp, tackles the opening race at Doomben on Saturday after an eye-catching first-up run at the same course mon July 12. With barrier four and Damian Browne aboard, the gelding should get every chance over the 1350m journey.
Then at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, the aptly-named WAS IT WORTH IT (Love Conquers All x Betrayer) make his debut for O’Dea in the QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate (1200m) from the inside draw. Jordan Mallyon takes the ride.
Monday features more O’Dea-trained gallopers, with REAL STING and LOTHARIO trialling at the Gold Coast.
Meanwhile at the Warwick Farm barrier trials this morning, the Joe Pride-trained trio TAMARACK, GAMBLESTOWN (pictured), and MASTERATI stepped out as they prepare for campaigns in the new season.
