A busy Saturday for Proven Thoroughbreds will see six runners don the black and lime green silks while later in the week ahead, two of our more promising three-year-olds are due to trial.

SIR MOMENTS (1400m Sunshine Coast Cup), FRANCISCA (1600m QTIS 3YO Handicap), REALLY REILLY (1400m NMW Handicap), LOTHARIO (1200m BM75 Handicap) and CHOREOGRAPH (1600m QTIS 3YO Handicap) will represent the Steve O’Dea stable at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

All five are not without a winning chance, but our best hope is FRANCISCA.

Our other runner on Saturday is the Joe Pride-trained veteran GAMBLESTOWN (pictured), who is chasing a most deserved win in the 1800m BM82 Handicap after four placings this preparation. Leading jockey Brenton Avdulla takes the ride from barrier five.

Then at Wyong on Sunday stablemate THE EXCHEQUER is aiming for his first win in the 1200m maiden, following three placings from his six career starts.

Moving down the Hume Highway to Goulburn, John Bateman’s READABEEL steps out on her home track in the 1300m Class 1 with Jeff Penza to do the steering from barrier one.

The 1100m maiden at Ipswich on Wednesday is a likely starting point for BEAU DANCER. The O’Dea-trained gelding has finished first and third in two recent barrier trials.

Canberra on Friday sees another maiden, BOSTON BLUES, line up for Proven Thoroughbreds. Prepared by John Thompson at Randwick, the son of Melbourne Cup winner AMERICAIN gets the chance to improve second-up over 1600m.

DISCREET CHARM (Thompson) and SHOW ME THE HONEY (Pride) both registered impressive wins last preparation and are set to have their first trial back ahead of important autumn campaigns. The former will have a practice hit-out at Randwick on Monday while the latter will spin around at Warwick Farm on Thursday. Unraced two-year-old colt REKOBA, from the Thompson stable, will also feature at Monday’s barrier trials.
