Promising filly LITTLE RIVER returns to the races Saturday at the Sunshine Coast as part of a six-strong team for Proven Thoroughbreds this week.
An impressive winner at just her second start, the 3YO half sister to JAMI LADY, lines up in the QTIS 1000m event with the MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS JEWEL in March, her ultimate target provided of course she makes the necessary improvement.
LITTLE RIVER is one of a trio of O’Dea/Hoysted females facing the starter in the week ahead.
We are hoping to continue some momentum from last weekend which yielded three winners for the black and lime green colours in the shape of LAMINGTON DRIVE, RICH LISTER and INVINCIANO.
The hectic sales season continues in NZ where we have acquired two yearlings. See details below:

BHUTAN made a good impression on debut at Goulburn on Monday when rattling home from the tail to finish third. She’s bred to get over further than 1200m so it was most encouraging to see her hit the line strongly over that distance. She still has a lot to learn but the ability is definitely there. Whether it’s this preparation or next, she’s a filly to follow.
Comment: Slightly disappointing when a well beaten third over 1200m last start but should appreciate the rise in trip. Bred to handle it and seemingly more tractable with every run.
Comment: Has failed to flatter in a pair of provincial and country starts. Hoping that the application of blinkers can ignite his competitive spirit albeit against city class.
Comment: In very consistent form but needs a dry track. A good gate and Bowman riding are pluses though comparatively not as well treated under the set weights as some of his rivals.
Comment: Led throughout at just her second start to win in midweek company, running sharp time. First up and rising in grade but looks to have upside. Trialled well Monday.
Comment: Drawn an awful gate for her first try in open company but a very fast, high cruising mare. With luck in running could figure first up though may require a less frantic tempo in a slightly longer race.
