In other Proven news, PRIVATE EYE has arrived at Emeran Park on the NSW Central Coast for a couple of weeks’ freshen-up, after notching his fifth consecutive win last Saturday at Rosehill. Trainer Joe Pride has identified the Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) back at Rosehill on Golden Slipper day (March 20) as a resumption race for the 3YO gelding.
This week’s band of runners include the impressive last start winner HE KNOWS (pictured), who has drawn barrier one in the QTIS 3YO Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

2YO filly RUBINOCCHI was up against older horses on debut at Kembla last Saturday but acquitted herself admirably to finish fifth over 1000m. Held up in the straight, the daughter of RUBICK only got warm late but showed enough to suggest she has an ounce of ability. She will be worth following next preparation when she comes back an older and stronger horse.

THE GOLDEN HIND
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Stephanie Thornton
Comment: Finally gets out to a suitable trip after a set back earlier this preparation. Drawn to do no work in the run and will enjoy the sting out of the ground.
Comment: Encouraging trial this time in, suggesting that he might be about to turn a corner. Has shown ability in three starts to date but let his inexperience get the better of him. Expecting him to appreciate the tempo of a 1200m race first-up.
Comment: Drove through on the inside to win over this track and distance on January 7. This harder but can only improve second-up and drawn the inside gate.
Comment: Unraced filly who has made steady improvement under the patient training of John Bateman. Bred to possibly get further than 1200m but could surprise on her home track.
