Magic Millions is in full swing and Proven Thoroughbreds has been busy on the sales and raceday fronts.
The opening day of the sale was met with a stronger than expected market but we were able to secure three colts by DUNDEEL, SPIRIT OF BOOM and ASTERN. More information on these new purchases can be found on our AVAILABLE HORSES page.
Meanwhile, GOTTA KISS (pictured) drew well in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in 9. The chestnut filly leads our Magic Millions raceday team of SCALLOPINI, RECKLESS CHOICE and potentially INVINCIANO.
Unfortunately, PRIVATE EYE missed a start in the Guineas but can extend his winning streak to five at Rosehill on the same day.

BLACKBOOKER
RICH LISTER was almost 2 months between runs when tiring late over 1200m at Doomben. She went into that race without a trial and had a good blow after that race. With natural speed she’ll present much fitter next time out.
Comment: Strong run last time when doing her best work late to finish runner-up over 1200m at Doomben. Still inexperienced but heading in the right direction and looking for 1400m.
Comment: Classy filly hoping to finally get her share of luck in a big race. Has drawn to get a favourable run and looks primed for a peak performance.
Magic Millions Cup 1400m:
SCALLOPINI
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Ben Thompson
Comment: Drawn wide again so will need the speed on to bring his best. Another horse who seems to find bad luck and is due for a change in fortunes.
Magic Millions Open Handicap 1800m:
RECKLESS CHOICE
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Ben Thompson
Comment: Runner-up in this last year after being bumped at the start. Going up in distance and drawn the inside gate so should get the chance to settle a bit closer than recent runs.
Comment: Tough mare who is proven on the quick back-up. Has been crying out for a good track and should get that if we decide to put her on a float from Sydney.
Comment: Exciting prospect looking to make it five wins on the bounce. Missed a run in the Magic Millions Guineas but it might prove a blessing in the long run.
Comment: 2YO who has shown ability at the trials. Taking on older horses here through lack of race options but clearly has more upside than most of her opposition here.
