A relatively quiet week of runners as the curtain comes down on another Inglis Classic Sale.
The 2022 edition of the Inglis Classic Sale concluded on Tuesday and Proven’s acquisitions comprised five yearlings for the Joe Pride stable, one for Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted and one for Kerry Parker.
A full summary of our purchases, including photos, videos, quotes, key factors and prices, will be posted on the website by Thursday night. In the meantime, you can view our available horses page HERE.
And in another boost to the NSW racing industry, widespread prizemoney increases were announced on Wednesday. You can read the full press release HERE.
On the racing front, last start winner MY SHAMANA (pictured with some of her connections) will contest a class one handicap at the Gold Coast on Saturday while INVINCIANO continues her path towards some autumn features in the 1300m BM88 Handicap at Randwick.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners
Ipswich Wednesday February 9
Class 1 Handicap 1100m:
SALTOREE
Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Kyle Wilson-Taylor
Comment: Sound enough first-up at the Sunshine Coast. Tends to improve second-up and this looks a drop in class from her last start.
Gold Coast Saturday February 12
BM65 Handicap 900m:
TRIP THE LIGHT
Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Travis Wolfgram
Comment: Nothing went right when first-up over this trip. She was knocked from pillar to post but came through the race without issue. Excels at this track and is a two-time winner second-up.
F&M Class 1 Plate 1400m:
MY SHAMANA
Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Travis Wolfgram
Comment: Strong win first-up at Ipswich after being given a peach of a ride by Boris Thornton from an awkward alley. Always indicated she is looking for further than 1200m and gets that here.
Randwick Saturday February 12
BM88 Handicap 1300m:
INVINCIANO
Joe Pride/Regan Bayliss
Comment: Outstanding effort first-up after doing work in the run. Comes back 100m in trip so might find this a bit sharp but is going as well as ever with bigger targets on the horizon.
Nowra Sunday February 13
C&G Maiden Handicap 1100m:
JUST A TIFF
Joe Pride/TBA
Comment: Beaten as an odds-on favourite at Newcastle last outing when reluctant to take a split over the concluding stages. All runs this time in have had merit and he’s likely to get his chance to break through in this grade.
Sunshine Coast Sunday February 13
Class 5 Handicap 1400m:
DON’T DESPAIR
Joe Pride/Boris Thornton
Comment: Resuming since October. Will be more effective once he gets up to a mile and beyond but has won first-up before and loves racing at the Sunshine Coast.
QTIS 3YO Fillies Maiden Handicap 1200m:
GOSSIP COLUMN
Joe Pride/Boris Thornton
Comment: Showed good improvement from her first start to her second start when finishing third over 1200m at Ipswich. Can win if she continues on current trajectory.
