Half a dozen runners for Proven Thoroughbreds this week which will bring a record-breaking 2021 to a close.

This year has so far yielded a record 64 winners and $4,281,305 in prizemoney for Proven and another three runners will be out to add to that tally before 2022 is ushered in.

3YOs VANDINI and GET EVEN (pictured) appear our best chances in the upcoming seven days. The former is a warm favourite on debut at Ipswich’s Wednesday meeting while GET EVEN resumes from a spell at the Sunshine Coast’s Monday fixture.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Ipswich Wednesday December 29

Maiden Handicap 1350m:

VANDINI

Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Baylee Nothdurft

Comment: VANCOUVER 3YO making his debut over 1350m. Has shown improvement at each of his trials and comes into this fit and well. The tight turning Ipswich circuit some query.

Gosford Wednesday December 29

CG&E Maiden Plate 1100m:

JUST A TIFF

Joe Pride/Regan Bayliss

Comment: First-up after two unplaced runs in his first preparation. More mature now and been readied for this with three trials.

Gosford Friday December 31

Maiden Plate 1600m:

ROTATION

Joe Pride/Tyler Schiller

Comment: Getting up to a distance range where she can be effective now. Finished just over a length off the winner last start over 1350m but has a wide draw to contend with here.

Nowra Friday December 31

CG&E Maiden Handicap 1200m:

HEDGE FUND

Kerry Parker/Adrian Layt

Comment: Sound debut when third at Goulburn over this trip. Natural improvement should see him in the finish again here but will need some luck from an awkward barrier.

Sunshine Coast Sunday January 2

QTIS 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate 1000m:

GET EVEN

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: 3YO filly resuming from a break. Caught the eye in two unplaced runs last preparation and with natural improvement she can certainly make her presence felt first-up.

Moruya Monday January 3

Maiden Handicap 1010m:

COOL RECEPTION

Kerry Parker/TBA

Comment: Has finished within two lengths of the winner in two runs to date and has tactical speed. Expecting her to be in this for a long way too.

CG&E Maiden Handicap 1200m:

HEDGE FUND

Kerry Parker/Adrian Layt

Comment: Sound debut when third at Goulburn over this trip. Natural improvement should see him in the finish again.
