Holiday season is in full swing and Proven Thoroughbreds will be hoping to bring some Christmas cheer to our owners.

Boxing Day looms as a big fixture for the black and lime green colours with STOCKMAN a warm favourite for the Group 3 Summer Cup (2000m) and unbeaten 2YO colt PALAZZO SPIRIT (pictured) taking on a hot field in the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at Doomben.

In-form mare SNIPPY FOX will also be shooting for a hat-trick of wins in either the Class 6 Handicap (1350m) at Doomben or BM78 Handicap (1400m) at Randwick.

Then on Monday at the Sunshine Coast, punters will get a first look of STROLL, our $450,000 SNITZEL filly prepared by Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted. The 2YO was an impressive trial winner earlier this month.

BLACKBOOKER

HEDGE FUND did a good job to finish third on debut at Goulburn last week. The first starter for Kerry Parker raced midfield on the rails before running on resolutely in the straight. He briefly hit the front before finishing a long neck off the winner. Suspect fitness may have told in the latter stages as he was first-up over 1200m. Will be much better for that outing and be a strong chance wherever he runs next.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Warwick Farm Wednesday December 22

BM72 Handicap 1100m:

RUBINOCCHI

Joe Pride/Regan Bayliss

Comment: Onto her home track after a couple of game second placings in two runs back this preparation. Should appreciate getting out to 1100m and looks a good each-way chance again.

Doomben Sunday December 26

Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes 1200m:

PALAZZO SPIRIT

Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted/Baylee Nothdurft

Comment: Unbeaten in two runs. Faces a significant test here in the shape of COOLANGATTA but keen to see what he can do ridden off the pace.

Randwick Sunday December 26

Group 3 Summer Cup 2000m:

STOCKMAN

Joe Pride/Jay Ford

Comment: Gets out to his preferred distance range after some excellent runs over shorter trips. Looks to be going as good as ever this horse and might not need a wet track to win this.

BM78 Handicap 1400m:

SNIPPY FOX

Joe Pride/Jay Ford

Comment: In-form mare who returns to the scene of a career-best performance on December 11. Drawn well and should get her chance to post a hat-trick of wins.

Newcastle Sunday December 26

BM64 Handicap 1350m:

MACCOMO

Joe Pride/TBA

Comment: Sound in two runs back from a break and should be ready to win up to this distance third-up, particularly if he can dictate from in front.

Sunshine Coast Monday December 27

2YO Maiden Plate 1000m:

STROLL

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: Stylish trial winner recently and has done nothing but impress the stable in her work since. This looks a suitable starting point for her career.
