The Warwick Farm precinct will be a hive of activity this week with the Inglis Easter Sale to launch on Tuesday.
Proven Thoroughbreds ushered in the sale with a Sunday morning brunch at Joe Pride’s Warwick Farm stables where a bumper crowd enjoyed a sausage sizzle and coffee as we paraded our latest Sydney-based youngsters.
The four yearlings on show behaved impeccably – a great sign for young horses still in the process of being broken-in!
The day turned out to be a tremendous success so a big thank you must go to Joe, his wife Kylie, racing manager Hayley and all the stable staff.
Our 2019 yearlings to be trained by Joe Pride are as follows:
SEBRING x ARCADIA ROSE colt **SOLD OUT**
SCISSOR KICK x REGISTERED NURSE filly **97.5% SOLD**
SHOOTING TO WIN x ADORABEEL colt **75% SOLD**
AL MAHER x CONFIDENTIAL QUEEN colt
Fittingly, we kick off this week’s runners with a pair of Pride-trained three-year-olds. Debutante ROMALETTE heads to Hawkesbury on Tuesday 24 hours before the highly promising KYLEASE steps out at Gosford in pursuit of three wins from four career starts.
Then it will be another busy day in Brisbane on Saturday with four horses nominated by the Steve O’Dea stable.
Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners:
Hawkesbury Tuesday April 9:
Maiden 1100m
Joe Pride/Brenton Avdulla
Comment: Debutante who has shown positive signs at the trials. Can figure.
Gosford Wednesday April 10:
BM66 1200m
Joe Pride/Corey Brown
Comment: Talented filly who has won with authority in her last two outings. She’s flying and will be hard to beat again despite drawing wide.
Eagle Farm Saturday April 13:
Open Handicap 1400m
Steve O’Dea/Ronnie Stewart
Comment: Beat all bar stablemate COOL SEQUENCE last start when a month between runs. Will be cherry ripe for this.
Open Handicap 1000m
Steve O’Dea/Michael Cahill
Comment: Toughed it out in front last start to record back to back Saturday wins. In career best form so hard to knock.
Class 3 1200m
Steve O’Dea/Mark Du Plessis
Comment: Gets up to 1200m now which should allow him to hold the front easier and produce a good kick in the straight. Each-way.
2YO Handicap 1000m
Steve O’Dea/Ryan Maloney
Comment: Promising 2yo who has trialled well in lead up to this. Can go a bit keen but has plenty of natural ability so should be figuring prominently here.
Sunshine Coast Sunday April 14:
BM62 1400m
Steve O’Dea/Ronnie Stewart
Comment: Flopped in heavy conditions last start. Doesn’t win out of turn but sure to improve on a drier track.
