Proven Thoroughbreds will be represented by up to nine runners in the week ahead including the ultra consistent SNIPPY FOX (pictured).
The Joe Pride-trained mare has finished in the top three at eight of her last 10 starts and looks poised to figure prominently again at Randwick’s Kensington track on ANZAC day.
SNIPPY FOX will be joined by stablemate STOCKMAN at the public holiday meeting as Proven closes in on 50 winners for the 2020-21 season.
In Queensland, the Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted-trained filly BETTER GET SET gets her chance at some black type in the Listed Princess Stakes, a race Proven and the stable won in 2017 with CANDIKA.
ENRIQUE is another runner of interest in the sunshine state this week, shooting for a hat-trick of wins at Ipswich on Wednesday. The son of SEBRING’s most recent victory was a five-length romp on a rain-affected surface at the Sunshine Coast.

Comment: Has struck form with maturity breaking through with a narrow victory at Grafton followed by a dominant performance last start. Awkward gate and the tight Ipswich circuit will be a challenge but a very thin field.
Comment: Very impressive winning a 1000m Trial at Doomben and with a soft gate and taking on country opposition, looks beautifully placed for her debut.
Comment: Soiled his consistent record in a pair of ordinary runs following a summer letup. Gets out to his preferred trip, back on a dry surface and working strongly though lumps 60kg.
Comment: Has really come solid this campaign and ran gamely at her first try at this distance. Rises to stakes class but going well enough to warrant a shot.
Comment: Disappointing on affected ground at the Gold Coast first up but a Saturday city winner so at her best would trouble this field. Will still be improved by this outing.
Comment: Has shown ability from the get go and trialled impressively prior to failing at her only two starts. Ran as if the 1200m would really suit when first up at the Sunshine Coast so ideally placed in a race of this type.
Comment: Cracking run first up over 1550m at Canterbury and rises sharply in trip second up here. Would enjoy any cut in the ground and arguably a longer journey but an each way chance in this.
Comment: Very game little mare who turned in another honest run first up when closing late at Canterbury. Ideally suited to affected ground when hard fit but conditioned for this trip second up with a solid trial at Warwick Farm. An each way chance in anything she contests.
