Three-year-old filly SETOKA opened her account with a classy first-up win at Grafton on Thursday.

The daughter of SEBRING had previously placed in Queensland metropolitan company and not surprisingly started a $3 favourite in the 1106m maiden.

Trainer Steve O’Dea (pictured) had SETOKA primed for her trip down the Pacific Highway with two solid barrier trials before the filly broke through at her eighth career start.

Ridden by Paul Hammersley, SETOKA emerged from a midfield position to score by three-quarters of length after being adroitly switched to better going in the middle of track.

Following a record 49 winners in 2017, Proven Thoroughbreds has kept the momentum going with six winners in the first five weeks of the new year.

Proven Thoroughbreds will be active at the upcoming Inglis Classic Yearling Sale at the brand-new Riverside complex with the intention of adding to our 2018 portfolio of 12 horses.
