NIC ASHMAN’S SA DERBY TIP
“Horses that have had a run at 2400m this prep might have the advantage here. The Chairmans was a slowly run race with plenty using it as their launching pad to Derby success. There has to be some concerns around their foundation – will they be ready for a truly run mile and a half?
WARMONGER was the best of them and with the Price/Kent polish he should be ready for this test.
ANTRIM COAST ran 2nd to ORCHESTRAL in the NZ Derby over 2400m and hasn’t raced poorly since arriving in Australia.
The market has missed SUNSETS, who had no luck last start and was tracking nicely before that. He beat RIFF ROCKET over 2000m in the spring and ran 3rd to him in the VRC Derby. At $31 he’d be my early each-way play.”
