Handy sprinting mare RICH LISTER confirmed her odds on assessment by the market to comfortably dispose of her rivals at Ipswich Friday.
Under promising apprentice Zac Lloyd, son of former acclaimed jockey Jeff Lloyd, the mare always looked comfortable controlling the speed from the one alley before kicking clear to win the 1200m Benchmark 55 Handicap by more than a length.
“If she couldn’t take care of these, we were in a bit of bother,” said co trainer Matt Hoysted.
“Back to 1200m, down significantly in grade from Saturday company, the 3 kilo allowance, the one gate and very moderate opposition, she needed to win and did!”
The lightly raced RICH ENUFF mare has now posted two victories from her seven starts so there’s certainly scope for further success, especially if placed as judiciously as Friday.
She’s been a late maturing 4YO whose career has been hitherto hamstrung by a few niggling injuries.
Proven Thoroughbreds acquired RICH LISTER for $32k at the 2019 Magic Millions QTIS Yearling Sale. She becomes our winner of the season and 36th for the calendar year.
