New Zealand’s Karaka Sale has been a happy hunting ground for Proven Thoroughbreds in the past and this year we left with a trio of yearlings bred for middle to long distance.
Keeping with our faith in the HIGH CHAPARRAL (pictured) influence, two of the lots purchased are by Group 1-winning sons of HIGH CHAPARRAL (TIVACI and CONTRIBUTER), while the third acquisition is by an exciting new sire in RIBCHESTER (IFFRAAJ).
New Zealand-purchased yearlings currently racing for Proven Thoroughbreds comprise STOCKMAN, OCEAN TREATY, MACCOMO, WAR DECK, LAMINGTON DRIVE, GREENSPAN, and THE GOLDEN HIND – each of whom have won multiple races since 2019.
Those seven aforementioned horses have combined for 23 wins and 33 placings from 101 starts (22.8% winning strike rate, 55% place strike rate).
Other successful Karaka graduates for Proven include stakes performers TAMARACK, ADORABEEL & GAMBLESTOWN.
